Passed out as an IT Professional in June 2009; hasta la vista to the
college life as well as to my hostel and friends. I came back to home.
During the college, got off campus placement in a IT Company, but
as recession was hitting hard; I didn't stay there long unlike my seniors.
I did not want to waste my time .
One day through one of my friend, I came to know about SEO. (Till
the time, I didnt have an idea about SEO. All I know about SEO was
Senior Executive Officer :P)
But I was coming under the eligibility criteria. So I thought, why not?
I went there for the interview.
(My idea about an interview is something you should keep facing to let
you upgrade and also to know where you stand.)
So when I went there for the interview, I found out that its a 6
seater company. The interviewer was a young lady, decent looking,
knowledgeable person.
They interviewed me for around a hour. And finally after one week they called me up and told me that I was selected. I was happy that
I cracked the interview. But sad as the company was too small and they
were offering a salary amount a little higher than I used to spend as
a pocket money during my college days. I was in a dilemma if I should
join or not.
Finally I decided to join it for sometime, till I get a better opportunity.
Although I never have thought of working in such a small company
during my college days. Like others, I also used to dream of big
brands in IT (T,I or S)... LOL
So when I started working over there, I found out that SEO is not
actually core IT which usually an IT Professional goes into. I learnt a
lot there. Under the guidance of a senior there, I found out the door
to every single thing in Internet Marketing. I only had to go deep
into the learning process.
Later I started getting calls from core IT Companies but I realized
that although I am not satisfied with the growth graph yet I am happy
with my work profile. So I never thought of jumping into Core IT.
But when I started getting good opportunities from NCR region in SEO,
I switched there for more exposure to my knowledge, to learn more and
to grow more.
Finally its almost 20 months of working life. I started as an SEO
Executive and now working as SEO-Experts. Learn and implement; this is all
how I work....when I look back I find everything is changed... student
to a professional...
